The Estimation Jar is a favorite of my students. Use these two activities over and over! Activity #1: Students learn the difference between a guess and an estimate. They estimate how many items are in the estimation jar. The groups data is then analyzed for minimum, maximum, range, mode, median, and mean. Students graph the data. Activity #2: Students conduct a survey of their classmates. Provides students with additional practice analyzing and graphing data. Student reference sheet included. (A Help to Parents too!) These activities address the following skills in a FUN way! *The difference between a GUESS and an ESTIMATE. *Estimation *Graphing *Data Features: Minimum, Maximum, Range, Median, Mode, and Mean Want more Estimation Jar fun?
